Linwood Price Salisbury, Maryland Obituary

Linwood Price

Obituary Linwood Price entered eternal peace into the open arms of his heavenly father on October 19, 2019. He was the son of the late Ida Rebecca Price and Paul Johnson. Burger or Linburger, as he was affectionately called, enjoyed his passion of being a barber. He began cutting hair when he was sixteen (16) years old and continued up until 2014 when he was no longer able, due to health issues. He had worked for Perdue Farms in Salisbury, Maryland for around twenty-eight (28) years before retiring. Burger always wore a kind smile and would help anyone he could. He had a heart of gold with a warm spoken tongue. He loved and treasured all of his clients. Morning, Noon or Night, if someone needed a cut, he was there for them. Sometimes people had no way to get to him, but he would certainly find a way to them. He cut many heads of hair, from when they were babies, until they became grandfathers. Although he did not attend, he loved the church and watched it often on television. He loved gospel music, especially quartet music. “The Dixie Hummingbirds” were one of his favorites. He always said his blessings before meals and would kneel each night to pray before he became unable to. Playing the guitar was also one of his passions. Burger was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, and cousin. He has touched the lives and impacted the heads of many. His legacy of being the oldest barber in Snow Hill will forever live on in our hearts and memories. Linwood is survived by: three daughters, Ida Gillespie of Salisbury, MD and Linda (Rufus) Beasley and Edna (Purnell) Morton, both of Snow Hill, MD; one brother, Donald Price of Snow Hill, MD; five granddaughters, Jaynesha (Stanyle) Coulbourne, Leshae Beasley, Carisa Beasley, Tamara Beasley and Rochelle Purnell; five grandsons, Rufus Beasley (RJ), Jovon Jones, Ronnie Jones, Jr. Spergeon Morton and Mar-Keith Jones; twelve great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Linwood was preceded in death by his brother, Elwood Price, his son, Linwood Purnell, his grandson, Jamal Morton and a longtime companion, Doris Gillespie. LOVINGLY SUBMITTED ~ THE FAMILY
