Elbert “Bert” Fannin, Jr., 70, of Big Spring, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at his residence. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Myers & Smith Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Friday, October 18, 2019 at Myers & Smith Chapel. Bert was born December 3, 1948 in Big Spring, Texas to Thelma Lee McCartney Fannin and Elbert Lloyd Fannin, Sr. He was a lifetime resident of Big Spring. He retired from Guthrie Oil & Gas Co. where he worked as a truck driver. Bert loved spending time with his family, camping and fishing. He is survived by two daughters: Amber Fannin and Sarah Faultner; his mother: Thelma Fannin; one sister: Lynda James; the mother of his children: Helen Fannin, all of Big Spring; four grandchildren: Ty Johnson, Kade Fannin, Dylan Cantu and Ethan Faultner; one great granddaughter: Hynslee Cantu and his best friend: Butch Burcham. Bert was preceded in death by his father: E.L. Fannin; one brother: Richard Fannin; two sisters: Jean McGuire and Betty Sue Wilson. Arrangements are by Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
