Marjorie H. Jacobson, 98, of Pontiac, IL died Wednesday October 16, 2019 at 5:08AM at Evenglow Inn, Pontiac, IL. Her funeral will be held on Monday October 21, 2019 at 11:00AM at the First Lutheran Church, Pontiac IL with Rev. Tim Hubert officiating. Burial will be in South Side Cemetery, Pontiac, IL. A visitation will be held for one hour before the service at the church. Memorials in Marjorie’s name may be made to First Lutheran Church, Pontiac, IL or Pontiac Public Library. Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Pontiac is handling the arrangements. Marjorie was born on January 26, 1921 in Rural Owego Township, IL a daughter of Joseph W. and Helen (Wilson) Harding. She married Duane Jacobson on July 8, 1944 at the First Lutheran Church in Pontiac. He preceded her in death on October 20, 1990. Survivors include: two daughters: Marcia (Stephen) Fullman of Lipan, TX and Diane (Stephen) Platt of Chester, IL; one son: Alan (Lynn) Jacobson of Danville, PA; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Majorie was preceded in death by one great grandson, three brothers and one sister. Marjorie was a graduate of Pontiac High School and Gallagher Business School in Kankakee, IL. She was retail office manager at Widmer’s in Pontiac retiring in 1976. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Pontiac, a Girl Scout Leader and a member of the Zonta Club. Marjorie was an avid reader. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Evenglow Lodge, Evenglow Inn and Transitions Hospice for all their loving care and support.
