Schmittlein, Kenneth Gary Brooklyn, Michigan His Legacy… Kenneth Gary Schmittlein, 74, passed away October 13, 2019. He was born on August 19, 1945 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Frank and Geraldine (Bucher) Schmittlein. Ken married the love of his life, Sharon Benner, on October 1, 1969, in Avalon, Pennsylvania. He will be remembered as a loving man that valued spending time with his family and friends. He was committed to helping others. He enjoyed the outdoors… hunting whitetail deer, bass fishing, hiking, grilling, and gardening were among his favorite pass times. Ken loved to travel, making the annual “Guys Trip” to Colorado with his sons. Ken was a HUGE Steelers fan and loved his ’55 Chevy. His Family…Ken will be missed by his wife of fifty years Sharon; his children, Kenneth Schmittlein II, Clint (Kelly) Schmittlein and Amber Schmittlein; his brother Jerry (Kathy) Schmittlein; grandchildren Shane and Hailey Schmittlein, McKenna and Annika Schmittlein; and his brother-in-law Tim (Laurie) Benner. He is preceded in death by his parents. Per Ken’s wishes, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hospice of Lenawee or the American Lung Association.
