Gertrude Ruth Hunt age 89 died Friday December 11, 2015 at Evansville Manor Nursing Home. She was born on October 14, 1926 on the farm in rural Afton the daughter of August and Hattie (Schumacher) Kersten. She married Orson Hunt on June 30, 1945 and he preceded her in death on November 14, 2012. She enjoyed dancing with Orson, going to card club with neighborhood friends, cooking for the hired men on the farm, embroidery, and enjoyed gardening and canning. She was a member of the United Methodist Church Evansville where she volunteered also during the many harvest dinners .she loved to babysit for her grandchildren and other relatives children. She was a farm wife most of her life and had also worked for the canning company in Evansville one season. Gertrude loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren . She had a sharp mind remembering many birthdays of all the kids, nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. She is survived by her children; Alvin Hunt, Roger (Georgean) Hunt, both of Evansville, Marcia (Bob) Kremer of Albany, her grandchildren; Macy (Justin) Svendsen, Wade Hunt, Joe Hunt, Ryan (Jan) Hunt, Nick (Angie) Hunt, Ben (Brenda) Hunt, Theodore Kremer, Tom (Adrienne) Kremer, Lou (Sue) Kremer, Karen (John) Castro , Tim (Nicole) Muralt, Jon (Savanna) Bollig, Katie (Darren) Davenport, twenty four great grandchildren, two sisters; Mildred Wells of Edgerton, Mae Whitney of Janesville, two sisters in-law; Ruby Kersten of Footville, Mary Kersten of Janesville, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents August and Hattie, husband Orson, five brothers and there wives; Verne (Margaret), Harold(Doris), Floyd, Allen(Doris), Russell, brother in-laws and sister in-law; Franklin Hunt, Howard (Carol) Hunt, Emma (Ken) Spanton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday December 21, 2015 at the Untied Methodist Church Evansville with Reverend Norman Bude officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill cemetery Evansville. A visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday December 20, 2015 at Ward-Hurtley Funeral Home Evansville. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church Evansville or The Michael J. Fox Foundation Parkinson's disease P.O. Box 5014 Hagerstown, MD. 21741- 5014. Gertrude Ruth Hunt age 89 died Friday December 11, 2015 at Evansville Manor Nursing Home.
