Carolyn Smith Collier, 82, of Westminster, passed away on March 4, 2016 at Carroll Hospice Dove House. Born on February 17, 1934 in Delmar, MD, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Earl Smith and Ethel Flora Lowe Smith. Twice married, she was the wife of Thomas T. Collier, her husband of 26 years. Before retiring in 2002, Carolyn had been owner and operator of Accutype Secretarial and Duplicating Service for 25 years. Prior to that, she had been a secretary in the Alumni Office of Western Maryland College and a bookkeeper for Maryland Business Service. Carolyn enjoyed playing cards and board games, especially bridge, and was a member of several bridge clubs. She was also an avid football, baseball, and tennis viewer. Surviving in addition to her husband are daughter and son-in-law Roni Lynn and Patrick McCarthy, Sr. of Reisterstown, MD; sons and daughters-in-laws Jeffrey A. and Lori Jones of Reisterstown, MD and Michael E. and Lisa Jones of New Port Richey, FL; granddaughters Jessica Ridgely and husband Ryan, Julie Masters and husband Dan; grandchildren Jarrod Jones, Jordon Jones, and Aubrey Jones; step-granddaughter Amber Snelson; great grandchildren Micah and Lyric Ridgely; and nephew Robert Wayne Smith. She was predeceased by brother Robert Henry Smith. There will be no funeral service and interment will be private. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 12, 2016 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Carolyn's home.
