January 6, 1938 - Rosetown, Saskatchewan October 10, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta David Rawson, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at the age of 81 years. David was born in Rosetown, SK. He attended school in Kingsland and Rosetown, however, school was not David’s passion; farming was his passion. On October 26, 1968, David married Sheila Kathleen (Hubbs) and they farmed together in the Kingsland area for many years raising their children on the farm. David and Sheila enjoyed many family camping trips with extended family. They also hosted many family celebrations on the farm including Christmas and March birthdays. David’s hobbies included: arguing, curling (in the early years), arguing, playing crib, arguing, playing pool, arguing, hunting, arguing, and trap shooting. David was an active member of his community, always ready to lend a hand or farm equipment to neighbours, help to fight fires in neighbouring farm yards, and he and Sheila always had the coffee pot on for neighbours to drop by for a visit at the kitchen table. David is survived by his children, Sandra Rawson of Winnipeg, MB, Kathy Rawson (Michael Downey) of Calgary, AB, and Doug Rawson (Jamie Lynn) of Calgary, AB; and grandchildren, Liam, Logan, Rachael, and Raiden. David is also survived by his brother Ron Rawson (Doris), who was his life long partner in arguing, sisters-in-law Barb Donegan, and Elaine Hubbs, and brother-in-law Eldon (Lynn) Hubbs; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. David was predeceased by his loving wife Sheila on February 24, 1998, his brothers John Rawson, and Gerald Rawson; and sister June (Bob) Wilson, brothers-in-laws, Wilf Donegan and Fred Tyler; and sister-in-law Donna Tyler, and Charles Hubbs. A Celebration of Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Deerfoot South, 12281 – 40th Street SE, Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
