Dominique DeShaun "Domo" Baker was born May 8th, 1992 to the union of Kenneth Baker, Sr. and Angela. M. Rigsby Baker. Dominique confessed his hope in Christ at a very early age and on May 20, 2001 united with the Baptized Pentecostal Church of Holiness under the leadership of Bishop Walter A. Jones, Jr. Dominique was a very gifted and talented young man. he loved music and he loved to dance. He did not mind using his musical talent for the Lord. At the age of 9 years old he was appointed by the Pastor, Bishop Walter A. Jones, Jr., as The Director of the Young Adult Choir, a position he held until he left for college. He did an outstanding job. He loved his family and church family very much and we loved him to. Dominique graduated from Butler High School with honors and attended Northern Kentucky University. During his years of school from elementary to college he received numerous outstanding honors, awards and plaques from the Presidential Award in Elementary School, the U'Jima Award presented by the Office of African American Student Affairs Sophomore of the Year Award at Northern Kentucky University. He was also a Residential Assistant at NKU. He was a Choreographer Dance Coach. He was the Cheerleaders Coach at LPAS, the Dance Team Coach at NKU and worked with several other groups. He was a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporation. When he heard music he just automatically started moving. His desire was to become a teacher. He was one of the friendliest and most lovable person you could ever meet. He never met a stranger. He was a people person and just loved being around his family and everybody. Sometimes he would like to play and joke around. He had a favorite saying, "You fell for it." During his working career he worked at several restaurants which was very fitting for him because he was a people person and enjoyed working with everybody. He also worked in Telecommunications, Data Entry and as a Customer Service Representative. He leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, Aubree Alease Baker; parents, Kenneth and Angela Baker, Sr.; one sister, Kengela Baker Hall, one brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth (Mallory) Baker, Jr.; one nephew, Bryson Baker; grandparents, Martha Ann Gerton and Rev. Stanley and Faye Baker, Sr.; five uncles, Dion Neal, Phillip (Aisha) Neal Jr., Ronald Baker, Sr., Donald Baker, Sr. and Stanley (Alexis) Baker, Jr.; five aunts, Terri Carson, Keisha Neal, Deborah (Jay) Jones, Lillian Baker (Marcus) Fresh and Carolyn Sims; five great uncles; nine great aunties; one great-great aunt, Anna Reed Shawler; a special friend, Danielle Lauderdale and a host of cousins and friends. We loved Domo, but God loved him best. Spring Valley Funeral Home is honored to be of service to the Baker family.
