Brenda R. Welker

Brenda R. Welker, 65, Marion, entered Heaven at 3:36 am on Thursday, October 10, 2019, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. She was born in Marion on Wednesday, January 27, 1954, to Ronald and Shirley (Godwin) Snyder. On May 18, 2013, she married Ken Welker, and he passed away on March 13, 2018. Brenda was a 1972 graduate of Marion High School. She worked at Dana Corp. for 30 years, where she was a machine operator, and retired in 2006. Brenda was a member of Nelson St. Wesleyan Church. Brenda was an avid reader and especially enjoyed reading romance novels. She also enjoyed arts and crafts. More than anything, Brenda cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren, as well as having the company of her dogs. She will be remembered as a loving, strong, caring, beautiful, and vivacious woman who will be missed by all who had known her. Survivors include her daughters, Ashley D. (George J. Price) Eddy and Heather M. Eddy, both of Marion; granddaughter, Bailey L. Waggoner; step-grandchildren, Taylor Dixon, Madison Dixon, and Shaun Dixon, Jr.; brother, Ronald D. (Lana) Snyder; sisters, Linda Sloop of Marion and Melissa (Rob) Maggard; and her dogs, Sophie and Rascal. In addition to her loving husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald (Shirley) Snyder. The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 15, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Brenda's life will begin at 1:00 pm with Steve Johnson officiating. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
