F. Pinkowski
(Middleport/Gasport) F. Leslie Pinkowski, age 86, died October 10, 2019 in his home following a short illness. He was born May 23, 1933 in Niagara Falls and had lived in the Middleport area since 1997. Les was a US Navy veteran of Korea and was also a Member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree and a past president of the Grand Island Rotary club. He and his wife Elaine bred, raised and showed champion Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Cocker Spaniels and Bernese Mountain Dogs. Les had been a member of the Bernese Mountain Club of America, the Niagara Cocker Spaniel Club, the North Coast Bernese Mountain Dog Club and the American Spaniel Club. Mr. Pinkowski was predeceased by a sister: Roberta Ponn. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Elaine, son: Michael (Kimbra) Pinkowski of Brighton, daughter: Teresa Fritschi of Scotland, grandchildren: Kelsey Pinkowski, and Michael Logan Pinkowski. There will be no prior calling hours. Service and interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
