Rosie (Scott) Hawkins Obituary

Rosie Vesta Elizabeth (Cross) (Scott) Hawkins of the Waldron Nursing Center went to be with her Lord on October 10, 2019. She was 100 years and seven months old. Rosie was born in Huntington, Arkansas and started her work career as a public school teacher and professional seamstress. She is best known for her 30 years of public cooking at the Boles School Cafeteria, Midway Park Restaurant, Fred's Truck Stop and Parks Senior Center. She was widely known for her hospitality and neighborliness in the home and community. The Waldron Nursing Center filled her final years with extra-ordinary care and personal affection. She will be layed to rest by her first husband in the Buffalo Cemetery near Boles Rosie was preceded in death by her parents Warren E. and Thelma H. (Johnson) Cross; husband of 47 years, Thomas Lee Scott, husband of 4 years John W. Hawkins, son Joe Ed Scott, stepchildren; Etta Gibson, George Hawkins and Dalton Hawkins. She is survived by one son Thomas W. Scott and wife Wanda of Boles, Arkansas, daughter Georgina Thrasher and husband Allen of Compton, Arkansas, daughter-in-law Anna (Scott) Reynolds of Greenwood, Arkansas, step-daughter Janie Elmore of Waldron, Arkansas, grandchildren; Beth Rosenthal, Keith Scott, Michelle Hernandez, Lucretia Jo McAlister, Misti Bass, Brent Scott and by numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Family will visit with friends from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm on Monday before the service at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday October 14, 2019 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Buffalo Cemetery near Boles under the direction of Martin Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Gail Lovett, Brent Scott, Seth Stilwell, Scott Stilwell, Ben Scott and Luke Reed. Honorary pallbearers will be Bruce Rosenthal, Dezi Bowles, Craig McAlister, Anthony Hernandez and Elisha Scott.
