Vivian Marie Moffatt

Vivian M. Moffatt was born November 17, 1921 in Washburn, Missouri the daughter of Fred F. Moffatt and Blanch M. (Surrett) Moffatt. She moved with her parents to the Hallett, Osage, Cleveland area at the age of 9 months. Her first year of school was in Osage, Oklahoma. Due to the depression she moved to east Texas with her parents near Henderson, Texas and attended school at Carlisle, Texas. During school days at the age of 15, Vivian had her first job setting a neighbor lady’s hair for .25cents. Vivian later graduated in 1939, from Carlisle. After graduation Vivian went to work in Troupe, Texas as a bookkeeper for Troupe Propane. Later she worked as a bookkeeper for Sinclair Oil & Gas Company. Vivian then moved to Hobbs, New Mexico, spending several years there, before returning to the Cleveland area in 1957. Vivian worked for 16 years at the Cleveland Area Hospital as the dietitian when she retired. Vivian loved to garden, sew, crochet, knit and to go fishing. She loved to spend time with her two little dogs, Mindy a little poodle and Joie a little bichon as well as her sweet cat Sweetie. She loved the Lord and was a longtime member of the First Assembly of God Church. Survivors include her cousin Shirley Tyler of Hominy, Oklahoma as well as her family and friends. Services for Vivian will be Monday, October 14, 2019 at 10:00am at Chapman-Black Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday, October 13, 2019 – 1:00 – 6:00pm at Chapman-Black Funeral Home.
