Deacon Ronald A. Grenda Obituary

Deacon Ronald A. Grenda, age 78, passed away October 10, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 4, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Walter and Anne Grenda. Ron graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1959 and served in the United States Air Force from 1959-1963. He worked for Weltronic & Newcor before starting his own renovation & remodeling company. In 2009 he graduated from Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, MI as a Deacon. Ron was very passionate about his ministry and service to God. Ron was a devoted husband to Cynthia, his bride of 53 years. He was an amazing father to Cecilia (Steven) Carlson, Stephen Grenda and Cheryl (Lawrence) Eberhart and a wonderful grandfather to Evan, Mitchell, Samuel, Lauren & Jacob. He will be remembered for his love of God, his family and his ability to fix almost anything. In addition to his wife, children & grandchildren Ron is survived by his siblings; James Grenda, Susan Reed, Corrine Stephens & William Grenda. He was preceded in death by his parents & his brother Gerald Grenda.Visitation will be held on Friday, October 18 from 3:00PM-8:00PM with Rosary at 7:00PM at PHILLIPS FUNERAL HOME, 122 West Lake Street, South Lyon. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 19 at 11:00AM instate 10:30AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 830 S,. Lafayette, South Lyon. A private family interment will be held in Great Lakes National Cemetery where Deacon Grenda will be laid to rest. Memorial donations may be made to VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System.
