Passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Maple Park Lodge, Fort Erie, Ontario in her 86th year. Loving mother of Judy (Dick), Sue (Ben), and Wayne (Sue). Proud Oma of Eric (Breanne), Steven (Katy-lyn), Michael (Anna), Brittany (Bobby), Korina and Cassandra (Chad). Great-Oma to Jake, Kendra, Kayden, Amelia, Dillon, Haily, Dominic, Maddison and Ria. Dear sister of Johanna, Annie, Irene, Jerry, Cobie and Casey. Mettha is predeceased by her husband of 58 years Pieter and her parents Jakob and Irene DeMooy. Mettha immigrated to Canada in 1953 from Rijnsburg, Netherlands. Mettha loved her family greatly and enjoyed spending time with them. Mettha’s family will receive friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne, Ontario on Monday, October 14, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Faith Reformed Church, 3605 Black Creek Road, Stevensville, Ontario at 11:00 a.m. with visitation at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment to follow at Overholt Cemetery, Bethel, Ontario. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to Faith Reformed Church or Red Roof Retreat.
