Mrs. Janette Lord Hammett, 81, of Grantville, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2019, at her home. Mrs. Hammett was born June 19, 1938, in Coweta County, a daughter of the late Joseph Frenchman Lord and Ruby Dial Lord. She was a dedicated Christian wife, mother, and grandmother and spent her life devoted to her family. Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Hammett Guy and her husband Bryant of Sharpsburg; son, David Michael Hammett and his wife Brenda of Debeque, CO; six grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Florence Smith and her husband Bill of Hawthorne, FL, Joyce Barber of Gay, Ruby Winkles and her husband Buddy of Hogansville; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Kenneth Hammett and brother, Joe Lord, Jr. A family memorial gathering and service will be held. Claude A.
