Harry Roger Allman, 70, of Horner was born November 28, 1948 in Weston, WV: a son of the late Harry C. and Winifred Stalnaker Allman. He ended his earthly journey on October 10, 2019 in the comfort of his home following a brief illness. He is survived by his wife Linda Kennedy whom he married on October 7, 1997, two brothers: William and wife Vicki Allman of Aiken, SC and Darrell and wife Beth Allman of Weston; one daughter: Sara Comstock and husband Joe of Hartford, AK; one granddaughter: Keiran Rogers and husband Jeremy; one great grandson: Braydon Rogers of Huntington, AR. He is also survived by stepchildren: Stephanie and husband Troy Gray of Lakemore, OH and Robert Rinehart of Allen, TX. Roger graduated from Eastern High School in 1967. He enlisted in the Marine Corp and served in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1968. Roger was employed as an iron worker with Iron Worker Local 787 of Parkersburg, WV, a welder in the coal mine and retired from Weyerhauser in the maintenance department. He was a member of the VFW Post 3663 in Buckhannon, Elkins Marine Corp League and the Lewis County Honor Guard. Roger was a fan of the Cleveland Browns and WVU Football teams. His hobbies included golf, hunting and firearms competitions. He participated in the National Rifle Matches at Camp Perry OH for many years and enjoyed volunteering for the Civilian Marksmanship program in his retirement. Family, friends and co-workers will miss the practical jokes and tall tales he will be remembered for. Roger’s wishes for cremation have been honored and Celebration of Life Services will be held on Friday, October 18, 2019 at 11:45 a.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston. Fellowship time will be held on Friday from 11 a.m. until 11;45 a.m. from the funeral home chapel. Entombment will follow services in WV National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. with full military honors rendered by the United States Marine Corp, Lewis County Honor Guard and Elkins Marine Corp League.
