Rev. Luke Wheeler, age 88, of Fairmount, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2019 at his residence. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Danny May and Rev. James Gambill officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Rev. Wheeler was a Church of God minister and served many churches in North Georgia for over 48 years. He served in the U.S. Army and enjoyed eating at Bojangles, playing checkers, walking, gardening and loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Wheeler; parents, Carl and Ruth Wheeler; 2 brothers; and 1 sister. Luke is survived by his son, Lynn Wheeler (Donna); grandchildren, Nathanael Wheeler, Becca Crump (Stacy) and Matthew Wheeler; great-grandchildren, Anna Crump and Emily Crump; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
