Kathryn McGrath Obituary

Kathryn was always ahead of her time. Born in Eagle Gorge, Washington in 1919, she was an original Rosie the Riveter and after college followed her sense of adventure to NYC where she sold the highest number of War Bonds on the main floor of Lord and Taylor on Fifth Avenue during WW 11, while pursuing a career in modeling and advertising. She took time out to raise 6 children then changed direction earning her MSW while working for NYC'S Department of Social Services retiring in 1992 as Director of the Human Resources Administration's Employee Assistance Program. She then devoted her time to her family and friends, enjoying traveling, reading, exchanging ideas with all kinds of people, and keeping pace with politics and current events throughout the world. She was interested in nutrition and positive thinking way before it was popular and always looked forward to meeting new people, and exchanging new ideas and new experiences. She leaves behind 6 children, 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and a great void in Greenwich Village.
