Joseph Raymond Sampson

Raymond Joseph Sampson- 85, Louisdale, passed away at his home in Louisdale October 10, 2019, surrounded by his daughter and granddaughter after a courageous battle with Cancer.

Born in Louisdale, he was the son of the late Joe and Oblidne Sampson (Samson). Raymond’s passion for the out doors is what made everyone fall in love with him, though he could not hear you, he always knew when you were there. From cutting his grass to cutting up wood, to going fishing there was never a time it didn’t wake someone up, and his famous words would be “I sorry I love you” when he would do it.

He is survived by his loving family, daughters Janet (Kevin) Martell, Louisdale; Brenda (Fraser) Martell, Toronto; Darlene (Michael) Poirier, Cheticamp; son grandchildren Justine, Melissa, Jason, Jamie, Valerie, Shawn, Lorne, Dylan, and Jacob; great grandchildren Nevaeh, Ryan, Hayley, Dallas, Ryder, Jazmyn, Brady, Taylor, Hailey, Logan, Shawney, Annabelle, Daniel. Brother Abraham Sampson, and many nieces and nephews along with many godchildren. Raymond was predeceased by is wife Yvonne, along with many brother and sisters.

Visitation will be held in the Glen Sampson room, Louisdale Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral Mass will be held in St. Louis Church, Louisdale Wednesday at 11am with Father. Duncan officiating. Burial will take place in St. Louis Parish Cemetery following mass. There will also be a celebration of life to follow at the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Felix Marchand Education Centre breakfast program.
