Cora A. Senter Obituary

On Wednesday, October 9, 2019, Cora Senter passed away at the age of 77. She was a loving wife, mother of 3, grandmother of 9, great grandmother of 5, and a devoted follower of Christ. Cora was born in Canyon Falls, Kentucky on September 20, 1942 to Price and Laura Bell (Reynolds) Fletcher. At the age of 3, she moved with her family to River Rouge, Michigan, where she grew up as one of 8 children. She married her husband and love of her life, Dennis Senter, on February 14, 1963. They shared a deep affection for each other and strong dedication to Christ, serving together in the ministry for more than 50 years. Her greatest passion and desire in life was for others to know Christ and grow in their faith in Him. Cora was a full-time mother to her children as they were growing up, and a very active grandmother to her grandchildren. She was loyal friend and considered herself very blessed to have been able to maintain numerous friendships from her youth and young adult years throughout her life. She loved game nights with family and friends, bowling, and was an avid reader. When her children were grown, Cora earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Theology from the Christian Life School of Theology. She continued ministering with her husband, serving as full-time pastors of Allen Assembly of God in Allen, TX and Grace Fellowship Assembly of God in Farmersville, TX. They retired together from full-time ministry in 2013. Cora is survived by her daughters Deanna Maxwell and Denise Senter, son Gene Senter, brother Ova Fletcher, and her 14 grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Senter, her parents, Henry Price Fletcher and Laura Bell Reynolds Fletcher, her sisters Esther (Easter) Gross Hounshell and Wandalie (Wanda) Fletcher, and her brothers Tom Gross, Price Fletcher, James Gross, and Alex Gross. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, Oct 20, 2019 in the Chapel at Scoggins Funeral Home, 637 West Van Alstyne Parkway, Van Alstyne, TX 75495.
