Robert was born in Milwaukee on April 6, 1940, son of George and Aloina Yost Hamann. He attended local schools and graduated from Bay View High School , Class of 1958 before proudly serving in the US Air Force from 1959 until 1965. Bob was an active member of Grand Avenue United Methodist Church in Port Washington; he taught adult Sunday School, was on the Ad Council, was an Annual Conference delegate and served as a lay leader for many years. He and Kay traveled to the homes of all the presidents, and to their gravesites as well, with only a few exceptions. Bob also loved trains of all kinds, and had a tradition of taking his granddaughters to see the trains at the Milwaukee Domes every year. He is survived by his wife Kay of Saukville, their daughters Beth (Mark) Davis of Glendale and Sue (Andrew Hunn) Hamann of Madison, as well as granddaughters Erika Davis of Shorewood and Jenny Davis of Madison.
