Marlin Wesley Pleasant

Marlin Wesley Pleasant, 90 of Nortonville, KY, passed away February 8, 2016, at Baptist Health Hospital. Marlin was born in St. Charles, on October 19, 1925, to the late Albert and Grace Sneed Pleasant. Marlin was an Army veteran, he went on to retire from Sinclair Motor Oil Company and from Pinkerton Security. Marlin was a dedicated member of New Abundant Life Fellowship Church. He was a talented musician that loved playing the guitar, writing songs, and gospel music. Marlin is also preceded in death by his son, Richard Wesley Pleasant; two sisters, Lavay McLemore and Donnie McGregor; and his nephew, Alan McLemore. Survived by his wife of 29 years, Kathy Arlena Pleasant; two daughters, Sue (Dwayne) O'Neal of LA, and Starr (James Alan) Combs of Madisonville; four grandchildren, Jessica O'Neal, Devyn Sharp, Jon (Lydia) Pleasant, and Carrie (William) Russell; five great-granddaughters; daughter-in-law, Julie Pleasant; and brother, Harlan (Pat) Pleasant of OK. Services will be Thursday at 11:00am at New Abundant Life Fellowship Church in Nortonville with Bro. Eddie Knowles and Bro. Johnny McLemore officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Ilsley Cemetery in Dawson Springs, KY. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 5pm - 8pm and on Thursday after 9am. Pallbearers are Robert Williams, Danny Darnell, Alan Combs, Jon Pleasant, Mike McCaw, and Truman Mannahan. Honorary pallbearers are Royce Pace and Dwayne O'Neal. ��Hopkins County Honor Guard will provide military rites. ��Arrangements are with Bandy Funeral Home. So sorry for your loss. You are in my prayers. I know he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. My memories will always be cherished of him sitting in church playing the electric guitar. .. love you all
