Lillian Stroud Obituary

Lillian Hestel Stroud, 73, of Grand Tower, passed away at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, February 8, 2015, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Lillian was born on February 9, 1941, in East Prairie, Missouri, to Norman L. Dickerson and Louise (Austin) Dickerson. She had been a farm worker at Grammer's Orchard. Mrs. Stroud was a member of the Grand Tower Baptist Church in Grand Tower. Lillian married George "Ray" Stroud on July 16, 1960, at the First Baptist Church in Steele, Missouri, and he survives. Other survivors include three sisters Vivian Parham of Murphysboro, Naomi Blackburn of Wood River, IL, and Nola Bland of Kampsville, IL; and one brother Robert Dickerson of Wood River. She was preceded in death by one brother Jerry Dickerson and her parents. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 13, 2015, at First Baptist Church, Grand Tower with Pastor Jack Thornton officiating and burial will be at Walker Hill Cemetery in Grand Tower.
