Clinton Troy Crawford, Sr.

Mr. Clinton Troy Crawford, Sr. of De Kalb, Texas, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2010 at his residence. He was 77. Clinton was born August 6, 1932 in Vera, Texas. He was a Carpenter and was a member of the Avery Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War and was member of the DAV (Disabled American Veterans). He married Jo An Payne on March 1, 1956 in Hooks, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents: J. M. and Lola Owen Crawford, a sister: Margie Beeman and a brother: Kenneth Crawford. He is survived by his wife: Jo An Payne Crawford of DeKalb, Texas.; two daughters and a son-in-law: Ramona Lane of Lone Star, Texas and Carla and Rick Wall of Gilmer, Texas; four sons and daughters-in-law: Clinton, Jr. “Skip” and Melinda Crawford of New Boston, Texas, Scott and Sharon Crawford, Daniel and Monica Crawford and Matthew and Sandi Crawford, all of DeKalb, Texas; twelve grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; six Great Grandchildren and a number of Nieces and Nephews. Visitation will be 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Bates Family Funeral Home. Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 12, 2010 at the Avery Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Roddy Jackson and Rev. Troy Drake officiating. Interment will follow in West Bowie Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Parsonage Fund at the Avery Missionary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 41, Avery, Texas 75554.
