Asiya Arabia Jordan was born to Shalanda Waiters and Lamon Davis, Sr. on January 20, 2003 in Florence, South Carolina.
Asiya affectionately known as “Nu Nu” was educated in the public schools of Florence starting with Lester Elementary where she was an Honor Student then transitioned to Wallace Gregg in 6th grade where she was Salutatorian then attended Williams Middle School as MYP (International Baccalaureate Program) student in both seventh and eighth grade. She then went on to Wilson High School, where she entered the early college program at Florence-Darlington Technical College and during her Junior year she entered into Francis Marion University’s dual program.
Asiya loved education, she created her own tutoring program called Asiya's all A's Initiative Group where she tutored students from 6-50 years of age. Asiya wore many hats. She was a cheerleader from eighth grade to present, SGA Secretary, Ms. Pee Dee Teen, Ms. Elk, and Ms. Sophomore just to name a few. Asiya had a GPA of 4.375 and would have been a proud Graduate of Wilson High School class of 2021.
Asiya gave her life to Christ at the age of 15. She loved her church, she loved people, she never met a stranger. Her motto was “Leave a little sparkle everywhere you go.”
Asiya is survived by her mother Shalanda Waiters, father Lamon (Jenifer) Davis Sr., Stepfather Yasin (Yameenah) Jordan, six sisters; Isis Jordan, Icesiz Davis, Nasiry Davis, Chloe Davis, Sajood Jordan, and Equality Jordan, six brothers; Lamon Davis Jr., Osiris Jordan, Samaad Jordan, Hasan Jordan, Connor Davis and Xavier Davis, grandparents; Yulinda (Nathaniel) Charles. Otis (Margaret) Waiters, Larry (Angela) Williams, Jeanisce Brockington, Joyce Jordan, Carl Jordan Sr., and David McElveen, Great grandparents Johnny Waiters, Janice Waiters, Gurley Reeves, Fannie McElveen, and Janie Ruth Davis, Godmother Sallie Peoples, Godfather Linward Edwards II, Godsister Latoya (George) Taylor, aunts; Sherica Waiters, Nicole Brown, Tiera Williams, Regina Banfill, Lauren Williams and Rosiland Davis. uncles: Travis Waiters, Ricky Waiters, K'Rone Robinson, Alex Williams, Chacon Jordan, Carl Jordan and Gilbert Davis, a special friend Imari Phillips, best friend Kaelin Crawford, a host of numerous aunts, uncles, cousins other relatives and friends
