John R. LaFleur

John R. LaFleur, Jr. Howell, MI His Legacy…John LaFleur, age 80, passed away, September 14, 2019. John was born in Detroit, MI on December 18, 1938 to John and Theresa (Westra) LaFleur. He married Sandra Sowal on October 11, 1996. John was a woodshop teacher for Detroit Public Schools, retiring in June of 2002. John had many hobbies, including woodworking, antique dealer, and Lionel train collector. He also owned a marina and was an avid boater. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. His Family…John is survived by his wife, Sandra; children, Theresa Liao and John LaFleur III; grandchildren, Noah and Julian Liao; step-daughter Marisa (James) Turner, step-grandchildren, Victoria Turner and Nicholas Turner nieces and nephews, Susan Rutledge, Sally (Scott) Young, Ronald (Barbara) Savidge, Thomas (Laura) Savidge, David (Carol) James, Harvey (Bonnie) James. He is preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Gloria and Lorraine.
