Connor Jon Russell, 72 of Parsons, died at 9:54 A.M., Friday, September 13, 2019 at Labette Health. He was born November 28, 1946 at Parsons, a son of Walter E. and Marjorie Jane (McKinzie) Russell. He grew up and attended school in Wichita before his family moved to Austin, TX, where he graduated high school. Following high school he attended one semester at a university in Austin before enlisting in the United States Air Force. He spent his career in the Air Force and retired in 1982 after twenty-three years of service. He was stationed at Germany for three years, Hawaii for five years and then Lubbock, TX. When he retired he continued to live at Lubbock for a short time before moving to Shreveport, LA. He later lived in Memphis, TN, Cold Water, MS and Fernadina Beach, FL before moving to Parsons in 2010. He was united in marriage to Kathy Dodson. They later divorce. He later married Katie (McKee) Thomas on September 12, 1994. She survives of the home. He was Baptist. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards and had a large collection of cards. In addition to his wife, survivors include: one son – Kyle C. Russell, Parsons, KS; one step-son – John D. Thomas, and his wife, Patricia, Marysville, KS; one step-granddaughter – Katlyn D. Thomas, Fernadina Beach, FL; his mother – Marjorie Jane Riley, Olathe, KS; one half-sister – Pamela L. Winterman, Leawood, KS. No services are scheduled.
