It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Beatrice Santamaria at the age of 82 on Friday, September 13th in Windsor, ON. Beatrice “Bea” is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 61 years Leo Santamaria. Loving mother of Luci (Richard), Lori (Alec) and Bart (Jennifer). Adored nonna of James, Lucas, Ty, Bella, Colin and Olivia. Dearest sister of Luigi (Brenda) and sister-in-law Maurita and many nieces and nephews who all loved her dearly. She is pre-deceased by her parents Igino and Carolina De Luca and her brother Albert. Beatrice was born in Atina, Frosinone, Italy and moved to Windsor when she was 12 years old. She married the love of her life Leo, in 1958 and settled in South Windsor where they raised their children. Bea was an active member of Christ the King Church and her faith was a very important part of her life. She was a hairdresser, an exceptional cook and a seamstress. She loved watching hockey and baseball cheering on the teams with Leo. She was the best Wife, Partner, Mother and Nonna! In the last few years, she fought with courage and dignity, and always had her loving Leo by her side. A special to thanks to all of the doctors, nurses and caregivers who cared for Bea at the Villages of St Clair. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Parkinson Society of Southwestern Ontario, Diabetes Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
