PRESQUE ISLE:  Rose E. Buck 90, passed away Thursday, September 12th surrounded by her family at her residence in Presque Isle. She was born November 3, 1928 in Castle Hill, Maine, the daughter of Leo and Geneva (Hoffses) Essency.  She opened her own hair salon, the Roseland Beauty Salon, and worked as a hairdresser in Mapleton for many years. Rose was a member of the Mapleton United Methodist Church, Mapleton Extension, United Methodist Women, and the “Garden Club”, a group of ladies that met and ate breakfast every Saturday morning at the Northeastland Café for over 20 years. She valued her friendships and was a true friend to so many. Rose embraced life and family. She often said she couldn’t carry a tune, but she could dance, and dance she did. She is survived by her husband Blake Buck of Presque Isle, a daughter Katheen Woodside and her husband David of Bar Harbor, three sons; Gregory Clark and his wife Cynthia of Mapleton, Jeffrey Clark and his companion Elizabeth McHatten of Chapman, Tyler Buck and his wife Michelle of Mapleton, a brother Wayne Essency and his wife Lucy of Meriden CT, 10 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a grandson Dustin Clark and a brother Edwin Essency. Relatives and friends will gather at the Mapleton Methodist Church for a celebration of Rose’s life to be held Saturday, September 21st at 11:00AM with Pastor John DeFlice officiating. The family invites friends and extended family for a time of visitation at the church one hour prior to the service. There will be a reception after the service, followed by the interment at Southside Cemetery in West Chapman. Donations may be made in Rose’s memory to the Mapleton United Methodist Church P.O.
