Joyce Manley, 72, of Creston, died Friday, September 13, 2019 at the EveryStep Greater Regional Hospice House in Creston. Celebration of Life Memorials Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Pastor Rick Titus will officiate the service. Open visitation with family receiving friends will be from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. Online condolences can be given at www.powersfh.com. Joyce Ann (Miller) Manley, daughter of Clifford A. Miller and Pauline Elizabeth (Fry) Miller, was born on April 2, 1947, in Osceola, Ia. She attended school in Creston and graduated from Creston High School in 1965. On November 21, 1964, Joyce was united in marriage to John Christensen in Creston. This union was blessed with two children, Jana and Jamie. They later divorced. Joyce married Marion Manley in March of 1980 in Las Vegas. Two families came together, and Joyce gained a step-son, Greg Manley. Joyce resided most of her life in Creston other than ten years from1989-1999 when she moved in Camdenton, Mo., where she worked at Blair Cedar. Joyce was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the Elks in Creston and a former member of the Eagles in Creston. Surviving Joyce are her daughter, Jana (husband Lynn) Weland of Creston; son James Christensen of Creston; step-son Greg Manley of Malvern, Ia.; four grandchildren, Ashli (husband Steve) Peterson of Creston, Adam (wife Rhianna) Leith of Creston, Alec Christensen of West Liberty, Ia. and Lauryn Christensen of Creston; great-grandchildren, Keyana Peterson, Hunter Leith and Raelynn Leith; step-grandchildren, Angie Stevens, Chris Weland and Travis Weland; step great-grandchildren, Cameron and Lauren Stevens, Logan and Aubree Weland and Cooper Weland; brothers, Don Miller of Creston, Scott Miller of Creston and David (wife Bonnie) Miller of Hemit, Calif.; sisters-in-law Brenda Miller of Waukee and Peggy Miller of Creston and many nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bradford Miller and Steve Miller.
