Jerry D Stoll Obituary

Jerry Stoll, a life-time native of Michigan and all-American patriot who dearly loved his country, passed away on September 12, 2019 at the age of 93. He is survived by his beloved wife Joan and his sons Mark (Kathy) and Scott. Jerry was born in Pontiac, Michigan on August 30. 1926. He grew up loving the outdoors….fishing, hunting, camping, canoeing; white -water rafting; swimming; scuba diving and enjoying the marvels of Michigan. In 1956, he met his wife-to-be, Joan, and they married in 1958, enjoying the Michigan life over their 60+ years of marriage and raising their two sons, yet traveling the country and the world together. Jerry conducted his professional engineering studies at the General Motors Institute of Technology and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Over his professional career, Jerry made many important contributions to the automotive industry, especially with Ford Motor Company, where he was passionate about his involvement with Ford Racing. Other paths of his career led to working with Federal Mogul, Eaton, and finally, ECS Roush, where he retired in 1994. Jerry had many passions in life, but being with his dear friends and family was his greatest enjoyment. He just loved staying busy: sailing on his sailboat; gardening; chopping wood; working in his tool room; cooking; and spending time Up North traveling around Michigan. Perhaps Jerrys greatest enjoyment came with his involvement with the Detroit Power Squadron. He was Commander of the Squadron in 1994, but he spent many years contributing to the Squadron and boating safety in Michigan. Family will receive friends Wednesday, September 18, 2019 from 10am until the time of service at 12 Noon at A.J.
