Spring Grove Philip R. Messersmith, age 91, passed away on September 13, 2019. He was the loving husband of the late Arabella (Runk) Messersmith; who passed away in 1987. Philip was born in Spring Grove on July 31, 1928 and was the son of the late Clarence and Edna (Mummert) Messersmith. He worked as a papermaker for P.H. Glatfelter in Spring Grove. He is survived by his daughters Bessie and Lola; his sons James, Stephen and Grayling and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services and interment are being held privately by the family under the direction of Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., of Spring Grove.
