Johnny Smith

Johnny Allen Smith age 73 of Williamsburg, Kansas formerly of Pleasanton, Kansas passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2019. He was born on March 7, 1946 in Bristow, Oklahoma the son of Olen and Jewel Wood Smith. He graduated from Pleasanton High School in the Class of 1964. He worked for many years at Cosens Lumber and Ready Mix. He and wife Mavis were married on May 27, 2008. She preceded him in death on November 29, 2011. He was also preceded in death by two brothers; Terry and Joe Smith and a sister, Madeline Slaughter. John enjoyed music and playing guitar. He played in the Country Gold Band for over twenty years. He liked baseball and hunting and fishing. John is survived by two sons; Tim Smith and wife, Stephanie, Johnny Olen Smith and wife, Ann, two sisters; Bobbie Beasley and Sherry Nelson; and four grandchildren; Bethany, Jessica, Phillip and Piper. Graveside funeral service will be held 10 am Monday, September 16, 2019 at the Princeton, Kansas Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 pm Sunday, September 15, 2019 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. Contributions are suggested to Care to Share.
