BOLLINGER, Dennis Melvin – of Montrose, age 73, died Thursday, September 12, 2019 at McLaren-Flint Healthcare. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose, Michigan. Pastor Michael Horne officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Grand Blanc, Michigan. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to U of M Brandon NICU Bereavement Fund and checks can be made to the University of Michigan. Dennis was born September 7, 1946 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to the late Melvin and Allie (Tippett) Bollinger. He grew up in the Flint area and graduated from Southwestern High School with the class of 1965. Dennis served his country in the US Army from 1966 to 1968 and was stationed in Germany. On October 27, 1973 he married Janie Goodman at the Church of Christ in Flint, Michigan. Prior to his retirement in 2003, Dennis worked for GM as a welder. He started at GM prior to going in the Army and continued working there upon his return with 38 years of service. He was a member of the Church of Christ on Carpenter Road in Flint, Michigan. He enjoyed watching TV, hunting, nascar, and reading westerns. Dennis was also a U of M football fan, however his greatest joy in life was his family and grandchildren. Surviving are: Wife of 45 years, Janie; Children, Kerry (Dale) Chrysler, Sean (Theresa) Bollinger; Grandchildren, Dylan Chrysler, Brandon Chrysler, Brooke Chrysler, Jackson Bollinger; Siblings, Johnny (Cheryl) Bollinger, Don (Brenda) Bollinger, Cindy (Jeff) Rieger, Keith (Jenny) Bollinger; Sister in law, Lorraine Bollinger; several nieces and nephews; and his granddog, Chevy.
