Fremont-William Wesley Wright, 70, passed away Friday, September 13, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. Born on March 22, 1949 in Wayne County, he was the son of the late William Pinkney Wright and Marion Marie Hayes Wright. Wesley was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a Purple Heart recipient. He was a lifelong long-distance truck driver who worked hard to provide for his family. Wesley enjoyed the simple things in life and relished in the opportunity to hunt or fish. He was well known for his skill in barbecuing pigs over charcoal. A graveside service to celebrate Wesley’s life will be held Sunday, September 15, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kenly Cemetery with Rev. Jasper Renfrow officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery and at other times at the home. Wesley is survived by his wife, Carolyn Wright; daughter, Marie Wright Barrs; grandchildren, Jesse Barrs and Bobbie Jo Barrs; sisters Juanita Wade and Jeanette Beasley; and brother, Jack Wright and wife, Ruby.
