Elio Rotondo

Elio Rotondo

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, the family of Elio Rotondo sorrowfully announce his passing following complications from a cardiac arrest on the morning of September 11, 2019 at the age of 58. He will be forever missed by his loving parents Severino and Ada, his brother and sister-in-law Fabio and Julie, and children Angelo and Daniele. Adored by his partner Anna Maria Marando and mother-in-law Angela, Elio was also a proud zio to his godson Michael, whom he cherished immensely. An avid cook, Elio’s parmigiana was legendary among his family, along with his passion for music. At the age of 14, Elio joined forces with his brother to form a show band called Twilight, playing venues across Ontario until the pair opened the first of their three clothing stores called Ti Amo Casual Clothing on St. Clair Avenue in 1986. In 1997, Elio joined St. Michael’s Hospital where he began his long career in healthcare as Periop Materials Co-ordinator. He would later move onto Supply Chain work at Sick Kids Hospital and, most recently, to Plexxus as Senior Manager, Process Standardization and Logistics. Alongside his full-time job, Elio took great pride in his work as an usher at the Scotiabank Centre and BMO Field, and as a supervisor at Budweiser Stage, where he found loyal and deep-rooted friendships. Throughout his life, Elio had an affinity for people, creating strong friendships and bonds with those who were drawn to his charismatic personality. He cherished his family and friends, and above all else, his children. His gentle manner, inviting and kind way will never be forgotten by all those who knew him and had the honour of calling him a friend or brother. His indelible laugh and love of life will remain in the hearts of all for eternity. Visitations will take place at the Vescio Funeral Home Woodbridge Chapel (8101 Weston Rd. 905-850-3332) on Friday September 13, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-9 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday September 14, 2019 at 11:15 am at St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church (8500 Islington Ave., south of Langstaff Rd). Entombment to follow at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery (on Hwy. 27, south of Hwy 7). Online condolences at www.vesciofuneralhome.com
