Kenneth D. Maddox

Kenneth D. Maddox, 78 UPLAND – Kenneth D. Maddox, “Kenny” 78, passed away at 8:05 a.m. Thursday, December 10, 2015 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born in Hartford City on October 23, 1937 to William “Bill” W. Maddox Sr. and Mary Forest (McCombs) Maddox. Both parents precede him in death. Kenny graduated from Hartford City High School in 1955. He lived on the family farm all his life. He was a Blackford and Grant County Grain and Poultry Farmer before his retirement and most recently farming with his brother, Chuck. Kenny was an avid bowler, having bowled on several leagues over the years. He was a Hartford City Airedale and Blackford Bruins basketball fan. He also enjoyed puzzles, music and reading. He was also a regular at the Blackford County Red Cross Blood drives for many years being one of Blackford County’s largest blood donors. He will be sadly missed by his sisters, Mary E. Gunter of Portland; Margaret A. Oyler of Muncie; Jean Riggs of Poneto; Joyce M. (husband, Bill) Jenkins of South Bend; Lou (husband, Paul) Stroup of Goshen; brothers, Chuck D. (wife, Martha) Maddox of Hartford City; Larry D. (wife, Karen) Maddox of Upland; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews Kenny is also preceded in death by his brothers, William Wilson Maddox Jr. and Don W. Maddox. Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 North High Street, Hartford City, IN with Pastor Troy Kaufman officiating. Burial will follow at Hartford City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Keplinger Funeral Home.
