Danville - Clyde Gibson, 89, passed away on December 11, 2015 at Hawthorne Inn in Danville, IL. He was born the son of John and Caroline (Carmichael) Gibson on April 5, 1926 in Sycamore, IL and was raised by his beloved grandmother Sarah Ann Carmichael. Clyde married Betty on July 1, 1975 in Carson City, NV. Clyde is survived by his wife, his children Wayne (Linda) Gibson of Covington, IN, Pamela (Steve) Carboni of Drexel Hill, PA, and Raynae (Bill) Blair of Lafayette, IN; grandchildren Jennifer (Tom) White, Jason (Shawn) Gibson, Chris Carboni, R.J. Blair, and his buddy Hunter Blair; great-grandchildren Brooklyn & Aiden White, and Ashton Gibson; and sister Isabell Ferris of Arlington Heights, IL. Clyde is preceded in death by his parents, grandmother, and brother John. Clyde served in the United States Marine Corp during WWII on the USS Intrepid aircraft carrier. He enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as watching horse racing. Clyde will be cremated per his wishes and a private burial service will be held at Danville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in Clyde’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project or the American Cancer Society.
