Annie Ruth Bevers Thornton

Age 89, passed away in Dallas on Friday, December 11, 2015. Annie was born June 5, 1926 in Glen Rose, Texas. She married and had two sons in Idalou, TX. Among her many talents, she worked as the City Secretary for Idalou, TX and also helped her husband operate a concrete plant in Levelland, TX until his death in 1974. She later settled in Duncanville, TX, where she worked for the Duncanville Suburban newspaper. Ruth was a devoted follower of her faith and a long standing member of Duncanville Church of Christ. Her greatest joy was time spent with her family. Survivors include son, Randy Bevers and wife Vikki; son, Brent Bevers and wife Lucia; three granddaughters Kristi, Meagan, and Emily; grandson Brandon; four great-granddaughters, Hannah, Allison, Sarah, and Ella; two great-grandsons, Kole and Noah. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, John W. and Sophie Morris; brothers, Clifford, Chester, and Bernice; and husband, C.E. Bevers. Funeral services are 2 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2015 at Duncanville Church of Christ, 402 W. Danieldale, Duncanville. Visitation is 3-5 p.m, Sunday, at Jaynes. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Duncanville Church of Christ.

She was such a sweet and loving lady. I will miss her big warm smile. Sorry I have been out of town. Due to a legal obligation I will not be able to be with you Mon. I send my condolences and will be praying for your family.
