Annette "Pat" Jahnke Obituary

Annette "Pat" Jahnke, 92, of Tomahawk, passed away on Friday, December 11th, 2015, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown, Iowa with family at her side. Born Annette Alice Patrick on November 3rd, 1923, in Rib Lake, Wisconsin, she was one of three children born to Walter and Katherine (Laus) Patrick.  She attended Rib Lake schools and received her BA degree in Medical Technology from Marquette University in 1945.  On May 21st, 1949, she was united in marriage to James F. Jahnke in Rib Lake. They made their home in different communities until settling in Tomahawk for the 50 years prior to his passing on July 22, 2013, at the age of 91. Pat was employed for many years as a medical technologist at Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk where she was in charge of laboratory services.  At the same time, she was also very actively involved with operating The Jahnke bakery in Tomahawk alongside her husband, Jim.  Pat was a strong, loving and supportive wife for 64 years, an encouraging and supportive mother, who greatly enjoyed her neighbors and friends in the Tomahawk community.  Mrs. Jahnke was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tomahawk.   Survivors include her children: Karen (Lou) Luces of Las Cruces, NM; James "Fred" (Joan) Jahnke of Blythewood, SC and Kathy (Matt) Ankrum of Marshalltown, Iowa, three grandchildren, Michelle, Matthew & Phillip, as well as nieces, nephews and a host of friends in Wisconsin and Iowa alike.     Pat was preceded in death by her Husband Jim, her parents, brothers Curtis and Seldon, half brother Harold, and half sisters Irene and Catherine.Mass of Christian Burial for Annette "Pat" Jahnke will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 12 Noon from St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Rev. Louis Reddy Maramreddy will officiate.  Interment will take place next to her husband at Calvary Cemetery, in Tomahawk. The family will receive friends for visitation at the church from 10 AM until the time of Mass at noon. Memorial contributions can be made to the "Iowa River Hospice Home," at 502 Plaza Heights Road, Marshalltown,IA 50158  or St. Mary's Catholic Church of Tomahawk, WI.
