MCFARLAND/MARSHALL-Rayma J. Schuepbach, age 59, of Marshall, formerly of McFarland, passed away at home on Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, surrounded by family and friends following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on July 11, 1956, in Madison, the daughter of Franklin and Joan Schuepbach. Many years ago, Rayma found her soulmate and companion in Keith Pocock and they were married on Sept. 26, 2014, in their home in Marshall. Rayma was the owner and operator of the Shady Rest Elder House for 29 years and she found great joy in being a caregiver. Throughout these years, the residents truly grew to love Rayma and they became part of her extended family. She also loved to flip homes with Mari Stassi and it is said that there was never a dull moment during these house flips. Rayma enjoyed being with, and cooking for, family and friends especially if the menu included Italian food. She was a true people person and never missed an opportunity to spend time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Rayma also had a special place in her heart for her Fungyna Sisters and together these "motorcycle mamas" would travel extensively and leave their trademark lip-symbols everywhere they went. She always had a sense of silliness that endeared her to people often leaving them in tears of laughter. Rayma is survived by her husband, Keith; daughter, Tauna Ryan (fiance' Tom McNally); son, Josh Wilke (Aftyn); granddaughter, Kaylin Wilke; grandson, Joshua Wilke; mother, Joan Cliff; brothers and sisters, Gary (Cindy) Schuepbach, Robin Shapiro, Ernie Schuepbach (fiance' Michelle Garvey) and Patricia Lucas; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Franklin; and sister, Stephanie. A Memorial Service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 1 p.m., on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015, with Pastor Paul Anderson presiding. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Sunday. A "Sunday Funday" Celebration of Rayma's Life will follow the service at MAPLE TREE RESTAURANT in McFarland. Memorials may be made to the Schuepbach Family Scholarship through the McFarland Education Foundation. Online condolences may be made at
