Charles "Jack" Warren, Sr.

Patterson, GA Mr. Charles “Jack” Warren, Sr., 91 of Patterson, passed away early Friday morning, December 11, 2015, at his daughter’s residence following an illness. Born in Statesboro, GA on April 4, 1924 to the late Judson and Lottie Donaldson Warren, Mr. Warren had lived most of his life in Pierce County. He was a WWII veteran of the United States Navy where he served on the USS Princeton; which was the only air craft carrier sunk during the war. Mr. Warren was a farmer and was retired from Gilman Building Products as well as made & sold cane syrup and honey for 18 years. He was a member of Bristol Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Wright Warren; and two sons, Charles Warren, Jr., and Donald James Warren. Survivors include his daughter, Mary Rowland of Patterson; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Warren; three grandchildren, Valerie Penwell (husband Mark), Eugene Warren (wife Stephanie) and Patricia Henderson Warren; six great grandchildren, Jeffrey Bryant, Noah Bryant, Alan Penwell, Alexis Warren, Alex Warren (wife Heather) and Phillip Griffin; one great great granddaughter, Ellie May Warren; two sisters, Frances Taylor of Blackshear and Betty Cook of Atlanta; several nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 o’clock Tuesday morning, December 15, 2015, at the Pearson-Dial Chapel. Interment will be in the Bristol Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o’clock Monday evening, December 14, 2015, at the funeral home.
