Gertrude Earle Obituary

Gertrude Earle was born on February 11th 1928, in the cold winter of Carbonear, Newfoundland to John and Emma Earle. Gertrude came from a big family of many brothers and sisters. Life was always described as difficult during these days in Newfoundland and despite that, Gertrude did her best to work and help the family as much as she could, she often talked about going to work at a young age and never complained about any of it. Hard working and motivated, Gertie immigrated to Nova Scotia and started work as a waitress. Gertie spent many years in Halifax, opened an eggroll restaurant in Carbonear, worked at the Toronto Stock Exchange as a cook and spent many years working as a cleaner as well as caring for the elderly. Gertie returned to Carbonear where she lived until her passing, she always missed Toronto and wished she could return. Gertie will be remembered for her kindness, her amazing cooking and baking and her tremendous love for her family and friends. Survived by her daughter: Paulette, Toronto, ON; sister: Lillian, Spaniard’s Bay; granddaughters: Anjelina, Kingston, ON, and Kelly, Dominican Republic; grandsons, Greg and Adam, Nova Scotia; great-grandchildren: Quinn, Rachel, Taylor, Ash, Allister, and Anna Lee; nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special thank you to her niece: Geraldine and caregivers: Joan and Debbie. Private service for family only. Donations to any charity of your choice.
