Michael Harvey

Michael Harvey, 28, of Keokuk, died suddenly, on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at his home. He was born on January 16, 1987 in Keokuk, IA the son of Lisa Tolmosoff. Michael graduated from Central Lee High School with the Class of 2005, attended Southeastern Community College and received his AA degree. He then attended the University of Iowa and received his Bachelor’s Degree majoring in Psychology and French. He was employed at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City as a phlebotomist and presently was working at Thomas Cardella and Associates in customer support. Michael was a man of many talents. He could knit and crochet and made afghans, quilts and anything else you could make out of yarn. He also enjoyed weaving and spun his own yarn. He painted abstract art and other pictures and did face painting at fairs and carnivals. He enjoyed computing and spending time on the internet. Michael was a sponge of knowledge. He was an avid reader, studied Egyptian History and enjoyed reading news about antiquities. He loved to debate on any subject, and would strike up a debate with anyone, just for the sake of a debate. He also loved to travel and had traveled worldwide. Most of all Michael enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Lisa Tolmosoff , his brother, A.J. Harvey, two sisters, Sarah Hobbs-Olsen and Rikki Cook all of Keokuk, a step-brother, Matthew Harvey of Fort Madison, IA, his grandmothers, Sally Walker of Keokuk and Louise Harvey of Warsaw, IL, aunts, Cindy Snyder of Hamilton, IL, Debbie Henson of Keokuk, Deb Voss of Warsaw, IL, uncle, Leonard Harvey of Argyle, IA, one niece, Brooklyn Marie Harvey of Ft. Madison, IA and many cousins. Michael was preceded in death by three grandfathers, John Tolmosoff, Dale Walker and Glenn Harvey. A Celebration of Life will be held after 2 p.m. Saturday, November 21st at Dr. Getwell’s Restaurant at 1100 Main Street, Keokuk, IA. Memorials may be made to the family. The Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk is assisting the family with arrangements.
