Mildred Edwards Shelton

Mrs. Mildred Edwards Shelton, 93, died Thursday, November 12, 2015. The funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 3 pm in Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery. Mrs. Shelton, a native of Edgecombe County, lived the majority of her life in Bethel. She was employed with Brody’s Department Store, retiring in retail sales. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and the Senior Group. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie R. Shelton. She is survived by her: daughters, Connie S. Ellis and husband, Phil, of Tarboro and Carrie Lou Rollins and husband, Tommy, of Bethel; sons, Edward Shelton and wife, Peggy, of Stokes and Terry L. Shelton, of Stokes; grandchildren, Shelton Ellis, Cameron Rollins, Tanner Shelton, Logan Shelton, Gage Shelton, Melanie Anderson, and Steven Cottingham; and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 3 pm at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 145 N. Main Street, Bethel, NC 27812.
