Oreatha Ragland

Decatur-Oreatha Ann Ragland, 73, of Decatur departed this life on Friday, November 13, 2015 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Oreatha was born on January 21, 1942 in Brownsville, TN the daughter of Al Rawls and Johnnie (Perry) Taylor. She worked for General Electric for a number of years and was a beautician. She previously attended New Salem Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her only son, Johnny Shipp of Virginia Beach, VA; sister, Betty (Pastor Reco) Lewis of Decatur; brother, Fred Bradford of Springfield, IL, granddaughter and caregiver, Brittany Jarrett, 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, , special friend, Gracie Ford, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Anderson Taylor, sister Lavern Bradford , niece, Danielle Risby Guise and her grandparents. The family would like to give special thanks to Heartland Health Care Center and Decatur Memorial Hospital for caring for our loved one and Regina Menefee for flower arrangements.
