Eli Gene Vaughn Obituary

Eli Eugene Vaughn passed away on November 7, 2015, after suffering a heart attack at the age of 85. He was born on May 10, 1930, in Fremont County, Iowa to Ernest Eugene Vaughn and Rachel May Vaughn. He served in the US Army, Korea and US Army Honor Guard in San Francisco. He lived and worked in several states, Iowa, California, Oklahoma and Texas. His first wife was Evelyn Vaughn. Several years after her death he married Rhea Vaughn. Over the years, He was active in several masonic organizations. During his life, he was a plasterer, cowboy, western artist, painter, sculptor and rancher. He expressed his world through his artwork for all to see. He had an insatiable appetite for painting pictures. He was a father, husband, artist, cowboy, gentleman and friend to all. During his life, he was an authentic cowboy who loved to ride and rope with many of his friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Eugene Vaughn; mother, Rachel May Vaughn, siblings, Mary Loraine Vaughn, Lenora Bell John, Clara Louise Cooke, Elizabeth Jane Gibson, and Charles Lee Roy Vaughn. He is survived by his daughters, Anita Ramsey and Debbie Williams of Tulsa, OK; stepson, Dr. Bill V. Way of Duncanville, TX; grandchild, Christopher Ramsey of Tulsa, OK; great grandchild, Rylee Ramsey of Tulsa, OK; sisters, Darlene Alice Davis of Cedar Park, TX and Charlotte May Gibson and her husband, Ed Gibson of Shenandoah, IA. Memorial services are 10:00 am, Friday, November 20, 2015, at Jaynes Memorial Chapel, Duncanville, TX. Mr. Lance Rowe will be Officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, TX.
