MABLE LORENE CHAMPLIN, a resident of Berryville, Arkansas, was born February 23, 1929 in Pleasant Ridge, Arkansas, the daughter of David Leslie and Ada Grace (Van Scyoc) Stidham. She departed this life Sunday, November 01, 2015 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, at the age of 86 years. Mable is survived by eight children, Michael Johnson and wife, Frankie of Lancaster, California; Rita Schack of Grass Valley, California; Nita Schissell and husband Jeff of Loveland, Colorado; Connie Basinger and husband, David of Deport, Texas; Terry Champlin and wife, Sharon of Conway, Arkansas; Carolyn Curley and husband, Mike of Salem, Missouri; John Champlin and wife, Brenda of Berryville, Arkansas; Bobby Champlin of Berryville, Arkansas; four brothers, Leslie Stidham of Paris, Texas; Jimmy Stidham of Paris, Texas; Kenny Stidham of Berryville, Arkansas; Darrell Stidham of Berryville, Arkansas, four sisters, Virgie Karnes of Yerington, Nevada; Velma Edmonson of Brawley, California; Clara Weston of Seligman, Missouri; Leona Martin of Berryville, Arkansas, eighteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Mable was preceded in death by her first husband, James Johnson, her second husband, Edwin Champlin, her parents, one son, Don Edwin Champlin; three brothers, Charles David Stidham, Bill Stidham and Donnie Stidham; and two sisters, Marguerite Russell and Mary Ann Herndon. Mable’s family would like to give a special thank you to, Mercy Home Health-Kathy Taylor, Mercy Clinics in Berryville, Holiday Island, Eureka Springs and Green Forest, Arkansas, Mercy Physicians Clinic and Hospital in Rogers, Arkansas; Mercy General Surgery-Dr. Flake and staff of Berryville, Arkansas; Peach Tree Assisted Living, Holiday Island, Arkansas; Health South Rehabilitation Hospital, Fayetteville, Arkansas and Willard Walker Hospice Home, Fayetteville, Arkansas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 03, 2015 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville, Arkansas. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 04, 2015 at the Grandview Baptist Church with Reverend Bob Neeley, Reverend Freddie Blevins, and Brother Billy McCall officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Moreland Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
