Michael Sidney Ling

Michael Sidney Ling, 47, of Mount Vernon, died of pancreatic cancer on All Saints Sunday, November 1, 2015. Funeral Services: 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2015, at Seeds of Faith Lutheran Church, Lisbon, by Pastor Stephanie Wherry. Visitation: 4-8 p.m. on Friday at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Ann; sons, Christian and Cameron; parents, Richard and Dorothy Ingles; brothers, Paul (Cindy) Ling, Bruce (Dani) Ling, and Fred (Brenda) Ingles; sisters, Mel (Tom) Jones and Pam (Gary) McDowell, his in-laws for whom he loved dearly, Bob and Marge Wessels; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends. Mike was born August 31, 1968, in Independence, Iowa. He graduated from Maquoketa Valley High School in 1987, and then from Grand View College. On August 10, 1990, Mike married his high school sweetheart, Ann Wessels in Des Moines. He worked most recently as a controller for Hybrid Systems, Inc. in Cedar Rapids. Mike’s true passion was for cars, especially his prized Maverick. He enjoyed tinkering with machines and getting them to run. Mike will be remembered for his kindness and love of his family, especially his sons. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Leo and Anna Mills and his paternal grandparents, Bill and Eva Easton. Memorials are suggested to the family will be greatly appreciated.
