Stanley C. Mollick, Jr., 75, of Apollo, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2015 in West Haven Manor, Washington Township. Born March 7, 1940 in Apollo, he was a son of the late Stanley C. & Stella (Skwirut) Mollick. Stanley lived in the area all of his life, and was a 1958 graduate of Apollo High School. He worked as a coal miner in the Tunnelton Mines, and was later employed as a woodworker, and a guard at Westinghouse. Stanley was a member of the F & AM Lodge #437 in Apollo, and the Apollo Presbyterian Church. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. Stanley loved the Steelers, and Penn State football. He liked making people laugh. In addition to his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Shannon Mollick Fearon, who passed away on October 13, 2015; brother John E. Mollick, who passed away on August 28, 2015; and a sister, Victoria L. Kloc. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce (Marks) Mollick; children, Michael S. (Jerrilyn) Mollick of Apollo, John J. (Merrill) Mollick of Stafford, VA, Christine D. (Cal) Jacobson of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Dustin Mollick, Nathaniel (Melissa) Mollick, Seth & Gavin Jacobson; step grandchildren, Ian Mollick, Guy (Michelene) Jardine, Melissa (Casey) Davis; step great grandchildren, Gabrielle, A.J., Kyle, Baylee; brothers, Frank (Joan) Mollick of Maryland, Andrew (Jesilyn) Mollick of Lakeland, FL; and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. in the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 100 Owens View Ave., Apollo. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Lea Austin officiating. Memorial Contributions may be made in Stanley’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project, One Oxford Center, 301 Grant St., Pittsburgh, PA, 15219.
